Lisanu Ashebir Abraha, Chairperson

Lisanu Ashebir Abraha is an educational leader and consultant with a strong commitment to advancing educational quality and social empowerment. He holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and has amassed extensive experience in educational technology, capacity building, and community development.

He is the founder and director of AfriSmart EdTech and Consultancy, an organization devoted to enhancing education through innovative technology and professional training. AfriSmart produces instructional videos featuring experienced teachers to promote equitable access to learning.

Lisanu also founded and actively participates in Spark Forum, a community initiative in Tigray that empowers youth and society through public speaking, training, and media campaigns aimed at fostering positive social change.

As an independent Education Consultant, he has provided advisory services to multiple educational institutions, strengthening their management and instructional practices. He previously served as Deputy Education Manager at SOS Children’s Villages Ethiopia, where he contributed both as an education leader and classroom teacher.

He is a member of Uplift Learning Media, an NGO focused on delivering quality STEM education to school students, and currently serves as Board Chairman of Snit Innovation and Incubation Center for Social Entrepreneurship. At Snit, he supports young entrepreneurs in developing innovative ideas and connecting with potential partners.

Lisanu also devotes efforts to community development as Secretary of a Voluntary Local Project Office in Tigray. Through this role, he has helped build nine elementary schools funded by the Enderta Regional Development Association, handed over to the regional education bureau. The project additionally provides humanitarian assistance during crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic and regional conflicts.
